Singing In The Saddle: 4 Movie Set
4 movies on 2 Double-Sided Disc! "Oh Susana" - Gene Autry - In this musical western, Gene Autry runs afoul with the masked robbers. Wolf Benson, a man fleeing the law, throws Autry from a speeding train and subsequently assumes his identity. Autry is blamed and jailed for Benson's crimes committed while posing as Autry. His friends breaks him out and the three head out to clear Autry of the murder charge and bring the robbers to justice. "Three In The Saddle" - Tex Ritter - Greedy stage-line proprietor John Rankin (Edward Howard) and his outlaw gang are after Peggy Barlow's Tin Cup Ranch which she refuses to sell. Meanwhile, Tex Haines (Tex Ritter) is accused of killing one of Rankin's Bodyguards, but he eludes capture long enough to meet up with Dave Wyatt (Dave O'Brien) and Panhandle Perkins (Guy Wilkerson), a couple of Texas Rangers in disguise. Despite constant argument about taking the law into one's own hands, the three work together in an attempt to prevent Rankin from evicting Peggy. "Bells Of Rosarita" - Roy Rogers, appropriately cast as a cowboy star, invariably rescues the heroine from the villain in his movie vehicles. But when Sue Farnum (Dale Evans) inherits a circus, she finds herself being cheated out of her inheritance by her deceased father's duplicitous business partner (Grant Withers). Rogers suddenly discovers that real life isn't like the movies. In order to rescue this genuine damsel in distress, Rogers enlists the aid of his fellow sagebrush stars to put on a show and try to catch the bad guys. So well-received was the climatic "hero rally" that the device was repeated again and again in future films. "Springtime In The Rockies - Gene (Gene Autry) is the foreman of a ranch under new ownership, though he soon has his doubts about his new boss - Sandra Knight (Polly Rowles), a young pretty woman fresh from getting her college degree in animal husbandry but with little practical experience of life on the range.
