But when Sue Farnum (Dale Evans) inherits a circus, she finds herself being cheated out of her inheritance by her deceased father's duplicitous business partner (Grant Withers). Rogers suddenly discovers that real life isn't like the movies. In order to rescue this genuine damsel in distress, Rogers enlists the aid of his fellow sagebrush stars to put on a show and try to catch the bad guys. So well-received was the climatic "hero rally" that the device was repeated again and again in future films.
