Opposites Attract / Baby Of The Bride
Double pack includes "Opposites Attract" and "Baby Of The Bride" "Opposites Attract" - This hilarious satire features Barbara Eden and John Forsythe as two political opponents who lose their hearts over winning an election. Ronald Reagan, Clint Eastwood, and Arnold Schwarzenegger: in California celebrity and politics are one and the same. And so it is in Crescent Bay where former cowboy movie star Rex Roper (John Forsythe) decides to campaign for Mayor. He hopes that if he wins the election he will be able to install his hot tub, a plan that the Town Supervisor Charlene McKeon (Barbara Eden) had previously nixed due to the area's water shortage. Charlene is running for Mayor, too, pitting her solid reputation, vigilant community membership and homespun values against Rex's popularity, megabucks, and media savvy. before the votes are in, though, Rex and Charlene have created their own political scandal when the two opponents find themselves falling in love. It's politics - California style. "Baby Of The Bride" - "Baby Of The Bride" is the delightful follow-up to the hit comedy "Mother Of The Bride." Having just returned from the honeymoon of her life, Margaret Becker-Hix (Rue McClanahan) wants nothing more than to settle down and enjoy her second marriage with her new husband, John (Ted Shackelford), who is many years her junior. The pair are in for a surprise, though, when the 53-year-old Margaret discovers that she is pregnant and John's concern for her welfare leads to a big quarrel and then to a bigger separation. Margaret has no time to feel lonely as her house immediately fills up with her adult children who are all going through romantic trials and tribulations of their own, including Margaret's daughter Mary (Kristy McNichol) who is pregnant, too. Mom and daughter are both expecting and you can expect one giant dose of zany family fun as the Hix clan learn that a family filled with love can get through anything.
